Three regressions. A fourth life.
Chosen and raised as the Child of Destiny, she spent her lives being sacrificed, over and over again, for the real Child of Destiny, who would one day cross dimensions and take her place.
"This country is hopeless. I’m defecting."
To fund her escape, Leblaine chose adoption. Everything was going smoothly, until she realized the family that took her in was a household of villains. She figured she’d charm them, live comfortably, and leave once she had enough money.
But then...
"My daughter is the cutest in the entire world."
"Give me that building. It’ll make a fine restroom for my little sister."
"It’s fine. Leblaine said not to hit them, she never said we couldn’t kill them."
"Who was it? Who made my sister cry?!"
'...I think I’m doomed. What do I do?'
"You shouldn’t bury people alive or kill them just because you don’t like them."
I said it gently, brows drooping, but my family stayed silent.
Then I suppose there’s only one option. Narrowing my eyes, I declared with grave determination.
"I’m kicking off my blanket and going to sleep."
"We’re sorry, little one!"
"It's my fault!"
"We won’t kill them!"
Good.
