After losing her mother to hyenas, Variya was hunted by them day after day. Then, one fateful day...

She was captured by a tiger beastkin who couldn't even tell a lynx from a house cat!
Ready to claw the tiger's face and make her escape, she was stopped by an unexpected offer.
"You hate hyenas too, don't you? So do we. Let's form an alliance."
She thought having a common enemy might at least earn her some protection.
But then...
"Sweetie, do you like rocking horses?"
"Eat up. Go on, eat more! I'm telling you to eat until you're rolling around like a little ball!"
